Since you are flat betting try this.
Bet most the races you see, but only bet $2.
If you are handicapping and see something you like raise your bet considerably.

This is what I've been doing - usually betting every single race at Belmont whenever I have time to read the form. I stick to $2 win bets and bet $5 on a few I feel confident in. I mix in a few exacta and daily double bets here and there where I think I've got a good spot. I figure at this point in my education I'm better served getting a high volume of races under my belt than just looking for the best opportunities. I'm not betting money I can't afford to lose, so I'm willing to take what might be the worst of it over the short term if it will benefit me down the road.

Saturday things came together nicely and I booked a >$200 win. It is entirely possible that this was pure luck.

Sad to say I didnt bet it either, time to take a break for a while.
I plan on going to mountianeer for the west virgina derby.
I was at thistledown for the Ohio Derby. It was bombs away!
