Tell your GF you want to "see other people" because no man should live in Chapel Hill without the chance to bang hot Carolina girls.

Restaurant: Crook's Corner
Bar: He's Not Here

You won't want to walk from Carrboro to campus. Certainly not when it's damn hot out. Or in the rain.

Soooooo many hot girls there. So, so many.

Mama Dips ftw.

Yeah, but there's free buses that run all day to and from Carrboro to campus.

No s**t about the girls--it took me about three years to get used to it when I moved here, and every spring it's still ridiculous.

And sorry, but have to disagree about Mama Dips--pretty tasty, but overpriced and the portions are miniscule.

Thanks for all the advice so far guys. We're thinking about making another trip down this weekend to look at housing options. Someone suggested -not- going the apartment route, because apparently they'e not so nice.

Any idea how easy it is to find house rentals, and what's the best way to go about that? I've been looking through CraigsList and it seems mostly apartments. Ideally we're looking for something in Carrboro, not farther out.

Thanks for all the help so far...

ElSapo

Tyler's Taproom in carrboro has very good food (especially the garlic fries) and a great selection of beers.

i've got a buddy whose mom is a realtor down there, PM me if you still need help. i grew up there and still love it.

if you do go further out from carrboro, the best places to look are west of carrboro out on NC54, and south towards pittsboro along smith level road. decent number of houses for rent, a lot of older neighborhoods, not all the new subdivisions that are springing up. these rentals may be a little trickier to find, i dunno.

if you're used to the DC market you'll be pleasantly surprised by how much space you can get for 1200/mo or so, especially if you go a mile or two out of town in the right direction.

anyone in chapel hill/carrboro remember seeds of sheeba? i heard they got shut down a while back but i used to love that place when i was a kid.

I can't believe that place is still there, I used to play a gig there every week back when it first opened.
