Usually I would berate, but sometimes you just have to realize that material things aren't important and be happy that everyone you care about is doing fine.

my worst day was being a passenger in my brother's car when a truck pulled out in front of us. i ended up getting 80+ stitches in my face, and spent the rest of my high school life (this was the end of my freshman year) with scars all over the right side of my face, having to wear bandages over my eye for a couple months. many many plastic surgeries.

this no doubt killed any shot i had of getting with a girl until later in college, when the scars weren't as noticeable.

and i never even really considered this all that bad. i counted my blessings that i was alive from the car wreck.

i agree with the others. if this is the biggest "downswing" of your life, you should consider yourself lucky. you can always make more money.

and most of that [censored] is your own damn fault.
