HostGator and Bluehost are very very good (and cheap). I started out with some other host, but realized that they were really compared to my current solution (hostgator).
Edit: I use namecheap for registering new domains (google for coupons) . Its best to use a separate company to buy your domain, incase you decide to change hosts. |

BlueHost packages are cheap, GoDaddy claims to be able to handle more traffic (not sure if I buy this). |
