Chip Reese's section in SS is a great introductory read for 7CS. Along with Doyle's NLH section, it should stand the test of time. These two chapters still make SS a good purchase.

I would pay top dollar if Chip Reese ever wrote a whole book on 7CS.

I started with "7 Card Stud 42 Lessons..." (Roy West) and think it's a really good book for beginners cause it covers the basics. Then i've read "7 Card Stud for Advanced Players". It's a very good book that will help you improve your game. For statistical data, mathematics and advanced theories Othmer's book seems to be very good.
