Almost but not quite right.

The NITS always benefit somehow from a stupid rule. They'll find a way.

The dealer is required to know the correct pot size at all times, period.

I did hear a grumble from a WSOP dealer last year about the 75/150 blinds at PLO. Claimed that round was torture but otherwise keeping track of the pot size wasn't usually hard except when people would get unpleasantly creative with their bet sizes and wager 375 into a 600 pot and get two callers--quick, quick, what's the pot size for the next round?

People getting "creative" just to screw up the dealers is surprisingly common. Whatever, it's more important that the dealer get the pot size right than they be able to answer within 0.01 seconds. As for the jerkoffs who like to get creative, F*** them and the horse they rode in on too. I don't give a rat's a$$ if any of them ever have a game to play in. They will just have to wait a few seconds if they want to get stupid.

I have dealt more PLO hands than most people will ever get a chance to see(notwithstanding internet) and never have I stacked a pot and only rarely did I ever make a mistake in the amount of the pot when asked. devilfish used to always ask me what the pot amount was on the 1st hand he got involved in and then ask me to count it to verify. With a little wink when I was right he always thru me a $5 toke. He alway new asking me would cost him $5 too.

One thing to remember about PLO, is that the small blind is always counted as a full bet amount. Makes things a bit easier.

Stacking? Thats idiots running a room.

Isn't that a difference between tourney play and cash games? The small blind is counted as a whole bet in cash games but not in the WSOP tourneys. I recall being surprised by that a couple years ago when I was looking at the PL structure for the WSOP. When the blinds are 75/150, the max first raise is to [ 75(SB)+150(BB)+150(call) ] * 2. Maybe?

I would never count on a standard rule in a tournament. The WSOP has the double whammy of being a tournament and being run by Harrah's. And yes the small blind is generally just counted as the small blind in a tournament.
