what's wrong with limp or raise smaller? unless we are mentally challenged postflop, we should be able to make $$ from the 50% of the AA hands that otherwise don't get to see a flop when we do raise 4xbb/reraise. dude, i have 236 AA's that just picked up the blinds!!!!!!! (with one or two picking up the 4bbs from original pfr) [/ QUOTE ] hey i have an idea raise every hand and become micro rich!!!!! |

ok, everyone do this:
go to PT, filter for "Any Raise" Count how many AA's there are Then filter for "There was no flop" Count how many AA's there are. Curious what % all you wild and crazy lags are getting. |

omg. that was 10NL!!!!! u think those guys are calculating a range for me? anyways, prior to my last 50k hands (where i've been running in the teens), i ran about 30/24/2 for about 60k hands. i assure you all, i didn't get any more action than i am now. fish continued being fishy. nits continued being nitty. tags continued being confused. [/ QUOTE ] well try 60/48/4 then. since no one seems to adapt you should pick up blinds'n'limps all over the place. forget about the big pots. |

more importantly: what is your win rate with AA?

my win rate with AA hands that did not see the flop (about 50% of my AA hands) is .77 PTBB/100

It doesn't work that way. Your winrate with the hands where you saw a flop with would be substantially lower if you wouldn't raise.

yes i understand that
my winrate with AA is 7.5 PTBB/100 (where there was a flop) so, 15 big blinds (or $3.75 at 25nl) if i see 100% more flops with AA (by limping or minraising) then that 7.5 PTBB/100 would have to drop significantly for the new strategy to be less profitable edited for hands that saw a flop |

If you raise preflop to 4bb and get it heads up, pot pot pot gets you all in by the river.
If you limp preflop and are 3 way on the flop, 2 way on the turn (something kinda sorta typical) , pot pot pot leaves you and villain with around 60BB leftover by the river. Maybe you could justify it if you were playing with 50bb stacks, but with 100bbs I think that you're really underestimating the importance of building a pot. It has to start preflop if you want anything substantial by the river. |
