Re: Killer Poker by John Vorhaus
Felicia and others have stated something along the lines, that while the poker strategy is perhaps not the finest or most advanced, they like it because of the attitude, approach and mental advice.
Never read it tho, so I dunno ? |

Don't waste your time on anything written by him.

Re: Killer Poker by John Vorhaus
These pros like Andy Bloch etc who endorse his garbage can only possibly be writing those cover blurbs for some kind of payment. There is no way they have gained anything useful from Vorhaus's drivel.

Well.. I had a chance to ask her and she stated it was not a book to learn strategy but it was good for helping you think about the game and fix mistakes that you might not know you have... She's for sure is *the real deal*, so if she gives it a vote it can't be that bad.. |

This is just the sort of sycophantic claptrap that I imagine led to Oprah's Book Club. |

Re: Killer Poker by John Vorhaus
His stupid rags don't even discuss poker strategy for gods sake. They basically amount to "Concentrate hard on the game, think positive- you can do it, and don't play if you're tired or drunk." How anyone who has has actually read a decent poker book can offer support for this jerk is a mystery to me. Doyle Brunsons "Online poker" contains more strategy advice than Vorhaus's books.

Come to think of it, many books don't have poker strategy in them, in part because they aren't poker strategy books either. Cheers, Smurf |

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the Oprah theory; however she does not play poker, at least not that I'm aware of. Regarding being a fig thief, you think too much. If a player that I respect has it in her favorite list, I have to take note and wonder why. |
