If you can't do it in some configuration screen or something for the switch I don't know how. Try googling that switch and seeing if you can find a manual.

hmmmm, just had a thought...are you trying to use the same subnet on the LAN side of the wireless router as the subnet on the LAN side of the cable modem?
That wouldn't work and would explain your malfunctions thus far. I'll try to post back later on once my brain spins down from a long day @ work. |

Re: Wireless router headaches (awesome photoshop work inside!! must L@
lol, i am sooooo bad at photoshop. You probably need a second router. You are getting an IP address sent to your computer. The hard-wired router will use that address and give out all the computers connected to it a 'local address' usually 192.168.1.xxx. If you connect your wireless router to the first router it will take a 192.168.1.xxx address and give all the wireless clients their own address. You will probably need to make sure that the two ranges do not overlap. I would just set the wireless router to start giving out addys at 192.168.1.100 and the wired router at 192.168.1.001. You need the router to connect the two local networks. I think the last picture could be made to work if you set up dhcp on all the computers. |

Wow, my head hurts after reading this thread.
I just can't figure out why you're attempting to set up your network this way? Why not put a router between the switch and the modem? Then put a wireless access point somewhere/anywhere there is an ethernet jack. You would then change the subnet on the wireless network and all should work fine....however, that wouldn't be separate networks and would defeat what you're trying to do...I think. Ignore me. I'm no expert, but I think you might need a crossover cable going from your switch to your router.
Also can't you just use the wired router ports to connect your computers via ethernet? Or are their more than you have ports or something? |

Re: Wireless router headaches (awesome photoshop work inside!! must L@
Do you really need the switch?
I just plug one PC into the router while the rest of the comps/laptop connect vias wireless to the router. |
