I think the Lounge is the kind of place where mods often ask folk to tone-down the 'tude (even though it's the internet) and posting there means you gotta follow those instructions or you're given inconsequential bans. Seems straightforward to me.

The question here isn't whether he deserved the ban, because he clearly ignored a warning; the question is whether he deserved the warning to begin with. That seems like an issue of forum flavor, and as long as the question's answered impartially, I think the answer's up to the loungers.

I realize it's a 12 hour ban, my issue with less with his inability to access 2p2 and just tha I think it's really bad decision making.

What solution do you offer?

Despite being 3 hours behind me, Dids consistently goes to sleep first. In his absence I will hazard a guess at what he might say--"Don't ban cardo." Seriously, this seems like such a ridiculous thing to have a problem with. It's basically just disagreeing with someone. I don't care what the rules in the lounge are, that just seems goofy to me.

I would further add "and don't do stuff like that again".

We all probably have like one [censored] up ban that we made in anger when we first got modded, I know I have a couple I wish I could have taken back. Getting bitched at by people helps us learn. And Stuff.

Dids,

Please feel free to warn posters in NVG about infractions, and 'not ban them' as your behaviour, but that isn't going to happen in the Lounge. Ignored warnings have consequences.

Carter,

You analogoy fails because I think it's ridic to consider that an "infraction". I realize in Lounge world that's apparently a crime worthy of a BxPiR2 user title, but the point we've been trying to make in this thread is that those are lousy standards. But please, keep trying to make this about me!

Katy can set anacardo to ignore. problem solved. This ban is ridiculous. You may as well ban every poster in BBV if you think what cardo said is banworthy.
