PS3 is the biggest seller in Europe.

Didn't it just go on sale in Europe, and didn't the 2nd week sales drop by something like 82%?

BetaMax, FTW

New Coke was a disaster of gargantuan proportions, compared to Crystal Pepsi. Coca-Cola had pretty much mortgaged the future on it, and it wasn't just that it didn't sell (which is what happened to Crystal Pepsi). Rather, people actively hated on it and left the Coke company for different brands, it was the butt of jokes on the news for months, etc. Crystal Pepsi simply made no dent in the marketplace, and Pepsi didn't try to *replace* Pepsi with it, as Coke had tried to do.

Jury will be out on PS3 for a while. It's not the product that's a failure, it's simply at a horrible price point compared to the competition.

(But then, that's also kinda what started BetaMax down the road to oblivion too, come to think of it.)

there's an exhibit at cornell with a bunch of these, no? Or at least there was 6 years ago when I went to visit the school haha.

I just saw the Enron movie so I'm gonna say pretty much everything they ever did.

I actually owned a dreamcast, and enjoyed playing it with friends. The only game we ever played was virtua tennis however. Definitely a flop for the $199 or $299 price.

Virtua Tennis and House of the Dead 2 were both awesome.

NFL2K or whatever it was called was amazing when it first came out. Those little memory cards with screens, minigames, etc. were plain weird.

edit: also games like Shenmue were pretty revolutionary. but yeah from business standpoint it was a huge dud.

The Dreamcast was pretty sweet. It's just too bad they couldn't get enough good games for it. The little memory card with the mini screen was awesome for games like NFL2K.

Shenmue was awesome - I forgot all about that game. The best thing about the dreamcast was that you could download and burn any game onto CD. I think I had something like 100 games for that system.
