I 4bet this to 4.5K and call anything after

If the stacks were deep i might rereraise to induce a push or something but with these stacks your bet accomplishes nothing. Hes not pushing with a lesser hand.

Hmm. While I think shove is the best chance we have to win the pot, it's also a very high-variance move, and if it doesn't fold any hands we're ahead of, it's kind of fruitless. Your image is much tighter than mine would be here, so I assume if you 4-bet you'll be given more respect than I would be.

I don't think calling is bad, per se, it's just that so often you miss and then you turned your AKs into a -1400 chip endeavor. Assuming you have some idea of how you might win the pot postflop even if you don't spike an A or K or two spades, I don't mind calling.

Shoving surely has to be more profitable than calling?

def less than 4.5k, he never just calls a 4-bet oop so if we 4-bet it has to be small enough that he has perceived FE

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't want him to think he has some FE. The 4bet achieves this no matter what the bet (or almost). I want him to fold more hands than if I push.

I think I'll have to go with the crowd here and say call. I dont think folding is reasonable here and neither is killing self. Shoving is a natural tendency here most of the time, but calling PF and raising any c-bet on a rag flop works here too since most likely both of you will have wiffed this flop.

Shove and scoop the 2k pot right now. You are ahead of his 3bet-restealing range and there's no reason to take a flop and let him hit. Even if he does call you will be in fine shape against all but two hands. I also don't mind 4betting a lesser amount than AI, as this may further disguise your AK.

Against that player, calling is horrible. Shove for deception or re-raise for deception; whichever one you think allows the most.

I'd like to see the math behind those who say shove.

Give him a re-stealing range, a calling range if Sheets shove and figure the maths out. I can't do it right now.

My guts say it's not the best play. It might be harder to assess the value of calling there. Will Matt CB any flop?

I push this any day. There is 2900 in the pot and you are pushing another 8000. Villain is getting 1.36-1 putting in 42% of the money. This seems a good stack size to shove. You clearly don't mind taking the pot.

I can't see how you don't fold some small pairs with the push and don't get called by AQ sometimes.

This is CO versus SB. Reraise says "you don't have a real hand." Push say "yes, I do."
