Limit is for weak minded players.

Wow.

It's funny that I hear this from n/l players who can't handle the swings of limit. N/l seems to be full of all the whiners from limit. The ones that always complain about not being able to protect their hand and tired of the suckouts. It's a very common theme.

If you've ever gone on a horrendous run of cards that seems to be endless, maybe you'd realize just how strong a mind you need to make it through those times.

as far as cash games are concerened In limit the game has alot of tight wads and they play with cofidence because they know they cant get stacked another thing its alot easier to get lucky in limit. Thats why good no limit players play no limit because its a more skilled game and these tight wad fish dont have the advantage that they do in Limit. Come to the no limit side tight wad fish and you will get crushed.

Do you always put your penis this far out there so everyone can see it? Not sure who you're trying to impress.

BR management anyone? If you're playing adequately rolled losing a buy-in is no big deal and any decent player should be unconcerned about losing a whole freakin buy in.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't know about easier, but I would say there's more luck in limit. In that case its also "easier" to get unlucky in limit.

Good NL players play NL? Revelation. There are plenty of players who play both, and plenty that are good at both.

[ QUOTE ]
because its a more skilled game

[/ QUOTE ]

I happen to think the opposite, but can't we just say that they're different skills?

[ QUOTE ]
and these tight wad fish dont have the advantage that they do in Limit.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because they're good at limit and you're not?

[ QUOTE ]

(1) I am a no-limit player.
(2) I came from a limit background, and I crush way more at NL than I ever did at limit.
(3) I attribute that to the solid fundamentals and poker math I learned at limit that other NL players just don't have.

I don't know why I let myself get dragging into these things. *sigh*

A raise in limit is merely one bet. So it changes the calculus of whether it's worth chasing draws.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the best response so far. I would like to hear more about what you have to say, esp. regarding the calculus.

"Limit is for weak minded players. There more the safe type players because they cant loose there whole stack in one hand. but what they dont realize is limit holdem can be a slow death were as in limit you cn get sudden death"

Wow, if you're gonna say something like that you'd better have some proof to back that opinion/claim up.
Are you serious?
I can think of a whole list of why limit is so much harder than no limit. In limit you can't just shove your stack in with TPTK and take down the pot right there. Check raising becomes VERY important on the flop as callers with a weak hand are forced to incorrectly call a big bet on the flop with marginal holdings.
Making such as assertion tells me you're more a psychological player than other players on average. Nothing wrong with that but if I had to pick an easier game to play in I would pick no limit. No limit players may have more "heart" but it's the limit players who have to sit there are grind it out. You tell me who the weaker minded player is.
