One of my leaks is folding too quickly on later streets, I think. I recently folded a double pair on the turn AA (pocket), something something (low pair on board), because I was convinced the villain had a full house 7's full of somethings on the turn. Pot was offering something like 16:1.

In that case, find and read Ed Millers great "crushing" post (it's linked in the FAQ). Folding incorrectly is as bad (and often worse) as calling incorrectly. In limit, calling incorrectly costs you at most a bet (usually only a fraction of a bet), folding incorrectly costs you a fraction of the pot. That doesn't mean you should call down everything. That's terrible, of course. Just don't fold hands that may be good for one bet.

In particular, if you never fold overpairs HU (or TPGK) for one bet on both turn and river, you're not far off the truth.

Because we want to make AA and AK pay. And because we like money.

do you think we will make more money by raising him on the flop or on the turn?

hint: its the one with bigger bets....

(note - im not entirely against a flop raise, its just far from optimal all else standard)

You're right that here it's often good to wait until the turn to raise. However, the flop might get capped if he has AK or AA. On the turn (if a brick falls and not the A), he might switch to call-down mode after we raised. So I think it doesn't matter much when we put our money in.

Realize on the river if his range is AA KK AK you are a 3:2 favorite and if he can ever have QQ AQ here its huge. Obviously if he only caps big pairs you are screwed. I just go nuts on the flop though.

Hmm.

We have 10 outs to full house or better(3 K's, 3 A's, 3 4's, one T) = we need 4:1. You're right. Call is the answer .

[/ QUOTE ]

w/ his small capping range there is not way we can count all these all full outs

I think you misread my post, What23: I was answering a hypothetical situation where we know for certain that villain has QJ.

Seriously Doc. Do you ever take advantage of your position?

Raise river as Sick mentioned. That way, we don't lose the villain w/ QQ on the flop and he will continue to give us money...until we raise. So raise later when in position. You need to learn some passivity skills. I have a feeling you think it's weak, but I think you fail to think about how can I make more money on this hand rather than how can I be a man and tell this guy he's beat.

Check your motivations. You're making a trade off. Money for ego. If you're fine w/ it fine, but quit w/ the constant 'raise raise raise' advice. Calling is correct in a lot of spots in todays games. This is coming from a guy who aggro'd off $250 last night because I was stupidly raising too much.

Considering he capped you should raise this flop since he'll likely pop you again. You can then call then raise the turn

If he has AA or KK that sucks, but whatever
