also Vista has NL HOLDEM preinstalled

I'm hoping that is part of some scheme by Microsoft to get poker legalized in the US and start their own poker room.

Go to your start menu and do a search for speech recognition.

I would recommend going through the speech tutorial it will help you learn a lot of the commands.

How long is it usually before one should really upgrade to the new OS? 1 year? I know people who are still using ME.

5 years I think XP is perfectly functional and pretty fast on new hardware.

Yea, XP runs GREAT on my computers, and neither have over 512 of Ram, so im a little worried about moving up to Vista outside of getting a new puter in a few years.

The people you know are pretty dumb IMO

ME was by far the worst OS ever created, MS Developers will tell you the same

what people say about ME is pretty accurate. It's by far the worst Windows ever, id rather use windows98 first edition than ME.
and about the nlholdem game in windows, imagine what would happen if you had a "play for real money" button in it. wouldnt it instantly become the largest poker room online?

There's no real reason for someone like you to upgrade until your computer is really out of date. My old hard drive blew up and even though my AMD-2600 with 2 GB of RAM ran OK (in my mind) it was out of date as I built it about 4-5 years ago. Now I have a dual core AMD 5000 with 2GB RAM and it should do the job good enough for another 4-5 years. Because I do business online I couldn't wait for parts to arrive via NewEgg to build my own so I just bought a pre-configured computer from Best Buy and it happened to have Vista Premium on it. I probably would have stayed with XP Pro if I had built my own.
