Re: Nice guys finish last
Do you mean that because he said he loved me he suddenly became the nice guy and so consequently I was turned off?
I don't think that just because some guy gets comfortable enough to say "I love you honey", he suddenly turns into the "nice guy" model. I think he's still the same tough, slightly dangerous model, just one with a sweet streak. Is that what you meant? |

Re: Nice guys finish last
[ QUOTE ]
We prefer a guy who is more complicated and dominant and kind of driven. Maybe even one who is so busy and focused on his own goals that he acts slightly disinterested and confusing. This is more appealing to us then a guy who is simply fawning. [/ QUOTE ] I believe this is biological. In order for a mate to be attractive before a life long commitment there has to be a possibility that they could walk away. If they are willing to stay in the relationship under any circumstance, we interpret that as weakness and they are less attractive to us. |

Re: Nice guys finish last
I did eventually dump that bad boy. But certainly not when he told me he loved me. I dumped him several years later. I dumped him when it became obvious that he loved a girl named Tina, too. That's just a little too much luvin for my taste.
(I did not finish my taxes but I got all my paperwork together and will finish tomorrow Also, I found a bunch of stuff that I didn't realize was missing, like my easy button.) |

[/ QUOTE ] It is well said. And it is true. Now, if either of you can tell me why, I am attentive. I cannot for the life of me figure out how that makes logical sense. (or even biological if you want to go that route). |

Re: Nice guys finish last
[ QUOTE ]
the point of this post is for us to figure out why women go for the douche bag type instead of the nice guy they are always claiming they want? [/ QUOTE ] Because all men are douche bags. I know I am at times. Girls have no choice this nice guy does not exist. Just like the men's idea of a nice girl does not exist. All women will at some point do something you can turn around on them and say "just like a woman!" Simply put find someone that you like enough to forgive when they act crazy. You won't have trouble finding a woman that is willing to forgive you for being a man. At least all the women I have know have forgiven me. |
