Re: 200NL - 99, Line?
No one is raising?
This is such a standard C/R for me. |

Re: 200NL - 99, Line?
Because we don't want him to fold worse hands and raise better hands.

Because we don't want him to fold worse hands and raise better hands. [/ QUOTE ] When more cards come that force us to fold to any further betting, than blanks, a fold on the flop is exactly what you want imo. Besides an 8, what turn would you feel good about calling a 2nd barrel? A Raise also makes hands that are better (in terms of equity and draw-out %), fold. |

Re: 200NL - 99, Line?
So those saying c/r how much are you check raising to? If he calls and the 2h comes on the turn are you firing again and how much if so? Or are you going to c/r flop c/f turn?
Check raising seem to be bloating the pot huge oop with a marginal hand but mabye I'm missing something. I'm not saying its bad, its just something I don't do often and if you guys are saying its good I might give it a shot. |

Re: 200NL - 99, Line?
I like c/r a lot here, but I agree that the hand gets very icky if he calls.
1) We are attempting to rep a 10 here by c/r, no? 2) If he calls, do we c/f no prob? What if the turn is an 8? 3) I c/r to $40. How do we like this size? |

Re: 200NL - 99, Line?
So If we are just check raising to represtent a 10 then why are we doing this with 9s which have very little chance to improve. Were basically just turning our hand into a bluff no? Why not do this with 22 instead of 99. How much do we have to raise to for a flush draw to fold? With these stacks a raise to 42 or something might still call. If a club comes we hate it, if it doesn't we still don't know if he's got a 10 or a better hand.
I think I liked the c/c lead turn line best after some thought. I think I laid down a pair of aces to a nit yesterday when he used this line in a 3 way pot with a flop of KK5 or something. Don't want this one to die just yet so I hope there is some more input. |

By default I c/c-lead turn. [/ QUOTE ] Do you do this with a 10 too? I see alot of people doing the cc, lead turn line, and I still think it's very weak unless you are mixing it up with big hands as well, which I really dont see people doing much. Decent players know what cc flop and lead turn generally means, making it easy for them to play back at you. As played, I think it depends if you cc flop and lead with 10x too here. That being said, is 10x even in your calling range here oop preflop? I prefer to cc, check turn as that is consistent with how I'd usually play 10x or a smaller pp here. I also dont mind a cr flop - although while it makes the hand simple I'm not sure it's most optimal. |
