[/ QUOTE ]
Right, but we have the 4th best (aka nut) flush. Just wanted to be a nit.

Not to be a nit - but you don't have 4th nut flush.

[/ QUOTE ]
ORLY?

[/ QUOTE ]
Semantics. 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] is still a flush

[/ QUOTE ]
Well, well. It's not in the same category as our hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

Na-ah. We could argue that it's no longer a str8, but it's clearly a flush.

4 of a kind beats a flush. Is 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] losing to 4 of a kind?

[ QUOTE ]
After he 3-bets the turn I call down.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. If we give him credit for beeing decent player he will call the raise from the BB with mainly small pocket pairs and suited cards. His check, call, cap line is consistent with either slowplaying a K/Q-high flush or _maybe_ the nut-flush draw. Some players will pretty much never give you credit for a flopped flush ("It's so unlikely") and jam the pot with a set. Even if he also flopped a flush it's not a given that his flush is igher then yours.

No reads on BB, but he is 17/4.6/2.1 64 hands, so presumably a decent player, maybe a little tight.

Full Tilt Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $0.50/$1
8 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (8 players) hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, hero calls, 2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Button raises</font>, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls, hero calls.

Limp in MP1 seems appropriate with one limper, T9s is a good hand in a multiway pot but not strong enough to raise here. I think some more aggro types might suggest 3-bet here though? I am 20/11/2.3 over 20k hands .50/1.0.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (8.5SB, 4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, <font color="#cc0000">hero bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Button raises</font>, BB calls, UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">hero 3-bets</font>, Button calls, <font color="#cc0000">BB caps</font>, hero calls, Button calls.

Check-call-cap line is worrisome, but villain could do this with A2s, A4s, 22, 44, or even slow played AA as well as two trumps, two trumps being the least likely statistically.

Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (10.25BB, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">BB bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises</font>, Button folds, <font color="#cc0000">BB 3-bets</font>, hero ...

I think the correct play is to call down from here, and further raising is spew, is that too weak? I haven't done anything prior to this to make him think I'm a maniac, so he has to put me on a real hand here.

[/ QUOTE ]

sorry this disolved into a nitfest, results are this turned into my most spewtacular hand of my career, I capped the turn, raised the river and called the 3-bet, villain had Kh7h, I got carried away with 'what are the chances he flopped a higher flush'
