Re: pair + draw, but i hate all my options
[ QUOTE ]
Against some villains I actually love a c/r here, although not for reasons stated by Soju....c/c is standard against most. [/ QUOTE ] I might change my mind to support a $24 turn lead if Soju can explain his math. It just seems...so...sexy (catcher what do you think?) |

Re: pair + draw, but i hate all my options
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] With no other information available to me, I would actually go for the Check-Raise as a defensive play in case your straight does not pan out. A correct Pot-Odds bet of $24 (10 outs) would not only raise suspect, it looks weak, and in turn might give him the right odds to call. If he Re-Raises you, A fold IMO would be the correct play. On the River, you can check when you miss your draw and he is more then likely to check also, unless he has a strong hand, like QT, JJ, 99, 44. (T7, J4, 94 does not make much sense with the pre-flop call of your raise) If he has AJ, KJ, QJ he is more then likely too scared to face another check-raise, or be happy to just limp in and take the pot if he has the better hand. [/ QUOTE ] Do u coach sir? [/ QUOTE ] can we not be dicks to new people? i'm sure my first 100 posts sucked also. |

Lets say we c/c 80ish. If we hit our straight is betting out ~200-230 the plan?

Re: pair + draw, but i hate all my options
turn c/c is ok... I kinda like c/f unless button calls cb's light or floats in position b/c his range has u killed- once ina while he'll have set here, but most likely its somethin liek QT, 89s, or better J altogether. ONCE in a while he has something like 77 or 66, which will check this down anyway 90% of time.

Re: pair + draw, but i hate all my options
Youre probably out kicked. Thats why everyones telling you to c/c and c/f and all types of weak advice.
You wanna check-raise. Unless hes the ultimate calling station hes folding top pair here. And if doesnt, you got outs. Granted you could be drawing dead to QT, but guess what, your opponent will be thinking the same thing. |

Re: pair + draw, but i hate all my options
No reads - then c/c turn is the best.
If you had any reads that he is capable of layind down hands, i might c/r turn and shoving any river river. I doubt he'll call with anything less than a set.2 pairs would seem unlikely on this board and you are representing JJ-AA with this line. This would turn your hand into a bluff, but decent folds all Js that have you outkicked. Just make sure you do it with big hands too. |
