It's a decent job at your age...I delivered pizza for Domino's in NYC (on a bike) when I was 17-18 and I recall the money being pretty good.

Hi all, I'm posting here asking for some advice. I currently work a Brookstone ay my local mall, the job is OK, but my hours got cut because corporate is giving stores less hours because of slow sales. Anyways, I've begun looking for a new job. What immediately interested me was pizza delivery.

There are about 5 places near my house, and all of them are hiring. They are starting pay at 10$ per hour plus tips, where I was making 7$ at Brookstone. I know much of that pay is to compensate for gas, but I drive a Toyota Yaris that gets 40+ miles to the gallon. Please share any info on this if you can. Thanks

BTW, im 18 and in HS.

If you're delivering in a safe area, it's a decent job. It put me through much of college. (just don't deliver on a college campus!)

This is a good point. I did this in high school and made decent money (~$100 per 5 hour night). It does suck giving up a friday or saturday night to work though.

I quit b/c there was a big murder case 2 towns over where 2 teens ordered a pizza, then killed the pizza delivery guy to "see what it was like to kill someone". It scared the [censored] out of me, so I quit.

Not trying to scare you out of it. Just stressing that you should make sure it is in a safe area.

Did it for a year in college. If you like driving around getting paid to smoke pot, listen to music and eat free pizza than do it. If not, stay were you're at.

Drawbacks-Working Friday & Saturday nights because you'll make much more. Your car will smell like pizza, you will often smell like pizza. Do you really want to turn your brand new car into a commercial vehicle? Gas is a lot more expensive now that when I was delivering.

Sorry to say I never got to bang a lonley housewife, but I can't even count the number of free beers, hits of weed I got. People always thought it was so cool to smoke or drink with the pizza guy. I was usually thinking hurry up and give me my free buzz so I can get out of here.

Friend of mine did this in school, he said it was good as far as jobs go, he liked driving around and being alone, didn't mention anything about salary but he did say his car smelled irreparably like pizza all the time, so I seriously wouldn't suggest it for someone who bought a new car this year.

It's a fun job, I've done it for two years. I'd reccomend it.

My brother did it back in HS and made a TON of cash. We live in upper-middle class suburbia so that helped the tips, but anywhere I think you'll do well. He was making about $15/hour or so about 7-9 years ago.

Add the one-in-a-million chance that you could get to bang a horney housewife to the list of positives.

I think you should always keep a pizza in the back seat that has a hole cut through the box and pizza for just such occasions.

I believe there is a porn website devoted just to this. Maybe he could go to work for them.
