In my field of architecture, getting a Masters is almost pointless. First of all, the Bachelor already needs to be a 5-year professional degree from an accredited university.

After that...it's all about interning then passing the exams and getting your license to practice. Having a Masters in my field probably doesn't get you any more money, and is just a waste of another 1.5 years.

I know a lot of fields seem to be literally "If you get a Masters, we will pay you $X more per year."
