Hi Bob:

[ QUOTE ]
haven't some really bad poker books had some pretty decent sales??

[/ QUOTE ]

This happened at the beginning of the poker boom because at that time there was actually a shortage of poker books thus all available books began to sell well. That's certainly not the case today.

best wishes,
Mason

Mason,

Have your sales declined since then?

Not really, no. Some new books have come out (SSH, Harrington) so overall sales are significantly up. Sales on individual books are up a little, down a little.. but the "old" stuff like HPFAP and TOP is still selling very well.

Hi Jared:

Our sales for 2005 were far better than 2004 (and 2004 was very very good). But part of the reason for our incresed sales were the Harrington books. Also, there is a clear shift in book sales from limit hold 'em cash games to no limit hold 'em. Now don't get me wrong, limit hold 'em books are still selling very well, but there is a definite strong demand for no limit books.

However, sales of certain other books not published by us have definitely dropped way off. In general these are books which are not perceived to be top notch. It's also easy to see this. Just go to Amazon and look at sales ranks of different poker books.

Best wishes,
Mason

I'm looking into my crystal ball.......

I'm envisioning yet ANOTHER spike in 2+2 sales in 2006......

I'm seeing this happening around.....oh.....May......or perhaps June.........

Default Resolution

Hi Everyone:

Just so all the moderators will know what happened, both pievegas and pdparv were banned by me on 2/14/06. Pievegas quickly appologized and promised not to break any rules again. She will be reinstated on 2/18/06.

Pdparv went on to attack us on the forums at bluffmagazine.com but has now appologized for his actions and posted to this effect in the Bluff forums. He will be allowed back on 2/20/06.

Best wishes,
Mason

[/ QUOTE ]The interesting question is whether we'll get PMs about it when they're back.
