Re: I\'m too good to win
[ QUOTE ]
OP, I know exactly how you feel. I go to the 5 dollar tournaments in my dorm once a week and I routinely feel like I'm the best player there, the only one who knows how to calculate pot odds and knows what the good starting hands are. The last time I was there I got AA and I limped UTG because I wanted to trap some people. So anyway, some donk raised it and like four people called him, including me. The flop came 678 and we all checked to him. He bet and I check raised him all in. He called and showed 45 for a straight on the flop. I couldn't believe how lucky he got and immediately told him how stupid he was to raise with 45o preflop since it's really not a premium starting hand. Anyhow, I just wanted to share that story because I wanted to let you know that I share your pain of being such a good poker player who is just unlucky all the time. [/ QUOTE ] My OP was nothing more than a joke and your play on this particular hand was poor. Yes, people get lucky and he paid his 5 bucks just like you did so if he wants to raise 45o then he can cause its his money. X |

You see, when you are a great poker player, you are at a severe disadvantage compared the the average, mediocre, and downright awful. Great poker players cannot beat bad players. [/ QUOTE ] no? |
