is there a big difference between regular dell LCD and UltraSharp monitors?

The UltraSharp ones are Ultra Sharp. The screen is very sharp, you'll notice things you never did before. Personally I loved it to browse the web and such, but as a designer I hated it.

you want a card with DVI input so you can get the better quality. You can use your normal VGA input as well if you want but it won't be the same.
