[ QUOTE ]
I hate my job. Money isn't everything, especially when I can grind out a living at poker. My job is difficult, stressful, adverserial, and unexeciting. The times I earned the most money were the the worst times in my life, due to the difficulties associated with that. It may be hard to believe for most of you due to envy; but that is the way I feel.Being able to get out of that condition is what makes the difference to me, even if I make less money and I am not as secure financially. [/ QUOTE ] I think you'll be happier making 75k playing poker than at your job. If you can pay off your debt, I say go for it. Your time, health, and happiness are worth far more than what they are paying you. |

its unclear where poker will be in the future and u have great job security, as tempting as it is it sounds like u should stay at ur job for the time being and play poker as a hobby and if u win a huge tourney or something reconsider

Quit your job. Work for AccountTemps or similar. Take on <6 month long projects and play poker the other 6 months. If poker soars, you're good. If poker crashes, you're good.
You're an accountant, but try to think outside the box. Good luck. |

Obv you should keep your job, period. What makes you certain that your feelings towards poker won't change. What if you end up hating poker more than you hate your current occupation and then can't go back? Whatever you do, makesure to leave yourself outs.

[ QUOTE ]
I work my job which pays a lot more than a living as a poker pro. I can make $50-100K through multi-tabling, weekends in weak casino limit games, and the stars weekly million. Unfortunately, I have a job that pays $150K, plus medical insurance, and a 15% matching contribution to the retirement plan. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] This seems more like a brag then a request for help. What you basically said was "oh guys my life is so awesome, I could make a great living playing poker, but then again I'm making insane amounts of money at my job. Please someone rescue me from all this money." |
