I think this would change a lot if the antes were say... the size of a small blind.

Not saying I'd like it or that it will ever happen.

[/ QUOTE ]

Did you really think that through?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes? 10 SBs in every pot as opposed to 3 SBs = more to fight over & more for players to lose every go around = people would have to loosen up.

Surely but people would drop down if you play 5-10 blinds you're paying 15 an orbit to get the cards I belive most players would not pay 30 or 50 an orbit but drop down in antes to a game of similar size...
The structure with antes might change how the game is played but it does not necessarily mean larger games.
Also with crazy players sometimes 2-4 limit games have larger average pots than 5-10 limit so in my opinion you just need to find the fish and thats it changing the structure won't drive away the strong players.

I suggest overthrowing the US gowernment, promote online gambling and banning the strongest 10% of pokerplayers.

Cheers.

I wouldn't mind playing in say a 2/4 game with a 1 dollar or 50 cent ante.

I heard a rumor that games are getting so tough on-line that the sites are going to drop the free hands in hold'em and move from a blind to an ante structure. Comments?

[/ QUOTE ]

zOMG, I heard this rumor too!

Of course, my source was a guy who'd just dropped $500 in a live 2/4 limit game. He laid this knowledge on me right after he explained how Jamie Lynn Spears was going to become the Governor of Arizona and hire Britney to serenade Japanese tourists at the Grand Canyon. I think that Lee Jones was involved in this somehow and there was mention of a "mothership", but I didn't really take notes.

Lee Jones would definitely appreciate The Awesome Power of a Fully Operational Mothership.
