I think his wife would have rather taken an elbow to the face than have Kobe get caught with that girl in Colorado.

None of the 3 elbows from this season were effected by the jumping ability of the defender.

The Mike Miller incident stemmed from a shot Miller gave Kobe previously. Also Kobe has had altercations with Chris Childs, Reggie Miller, Raja Bell, and half of the league.

I think it's much more likely that he just gets frustrated and doesn't mind throwing a cheap shot here and there.
