Has anyone seen it yet? Nobody can doubt that Daniel can play, and he can even write a mildly engaging blog, but his blog and his Cardplayer columns has never really given me any sense of his ability to teach the game.

considering that he plays a very unique style for tournaments, and that i direly want to learn that style, id say this book will have alot of value to me. unfortunately, if the book is good, its impact may be so large that the tournament fields may immediately get tougher. daniel said hes writing 2 books though, one about his life and another about strategy. i havent looked to see which one this is though.

I'm not necessarily sure if it will improve the quality of opponent in the big buy in events. In the past, Daniel's product has not been that revealing. For instance, his DVD was geared mainly towards a beginning player. This, in spite of the fact that he said it would help players from all levels.

I wouldn't worry about it. How many people actually read poker books, read them thoroughly and UNDERSTAND what they're reading???

im not too worried about cash games getting tougher, but tournaments maybe. But even then, his stlye is so dependant on his amazing reading skills that most players, especially amateur players, could not utilise it.

I think there is a lot of confusion in this thread. The book the OP is talking about is this:

Here is the Amazon link, read the reviews. Unfortunatly they aren't too favorable, and from what little I skimmed through its far from earth shattering.

not this:

Which lots of people hope will be a fantastic book if it is ever released, his attempt at a Super-System style book on Hold'em.
