did he not sign up on his own accord, i dont owe him jack, my taxes already helped him.

now whether or not you should "respect" him is a different story?

personally, just because someone is automatically in the military doesnt mean they automatically have my respect

1. No, he's actually said it a few times. Even to me the other day because he never buys beer for the house. 2. No, he is getting deployed in July.

FWIW, he makes about 52k a year from what I've gathered. He's a 2nd Lt.

No one owes him anything, he volunteered for it. That being said, if he gets deployed and serves his country honorably, he gets my respect.
