def limp in ep. You want more players to pay you off when you hit your set.
Depending on board texture and pot size, I might call or even raise on the flop with 1 overcard. I rarely call if there are 2 overs unless the pot is big and I know that no-one will raise after me and neither of my 2 outs will make a flush or a straight likely. ie. - If there are already 12+ sb in the pot (someone raised preflop), and you know most everyone will call the flop bet (and aren't likely to raise), you have nearly the pot odds (18:1) and definitely the implied odds to see the turn. That being said, it's pretty marginal and folding is better most of the time. |

Por nada, Senor Frond.
I like the way Roy Cooke looks at hands. Some are better with few players, as in AJo or JJ, and some are better off as volume hands, like suited connectors and small to medium pocket pairs. Whenever I have a hand I'm going to play, the first thing I think of is my position and then the hand. If it's a hand that needs few callers and I'm in early position, it may be hard to get players behind me to fold to a raise. If it's a volume hand, will they raise behind me? Small PPs need the volume to make them profitable long term. |
