when the pedro comes back, he'll be fine and if anything, he'll have plenty left in the tank when it comes to the playoffs...hopefully the mets can hold on with that staff until then...

Pelfrey pitched 3 scoreless today against the Orioles. El Duque gave up 5 in the 2nd I believe. Pelfrey looks like he could be the #5 guy right now I think. So far so good I say.

^^i don't know about duque b/c of the age concerns, though who knows...

pelfrey has to make the rotation this year...i mean, he needs to develop and get experience, i don't care how badly he struggles since i think the mets can pull through on the offense alone for a good amount of the season...

El duque is great when he's in a contract year. Otherwise, he sure does tend to get injured a lot.

Hampton out months with an oblique injury....can somebody add up the total amount of $ he's made to be hurt?

1. Hard to blame Hampton for accepting an insane contract when it was offered to him.
Would have been incredibly dumb of him to say, "Nope...that's more money than I'm worth so I'm not going to sign."

2. I don't know Mike Hampton, but my hunch is that he would rather be playing baseball and doesn't particularly like being injured also.
