Pushing this barring a *very* reliable read on the raiser.

Re: AK preflop...seems basic
I thought this was a micro-limit forum? I expect to be chopping or against a pair at these limits against an unknown. There are players I'd push against, but I have usually found unknowns at low limits to be nitty with their reraises ESP oop. That was the reason for my whole post. My only advantage is position and hoping to flop something big. And even two pair could be trailing.

Re: AK preflop...seems basic
GT,
If you are against a pair it's a coinflip with dead money in the pot. -> +EV If you chop -> 0EV If he folds -> +EV Him not pushing you around for a while -> +EV If you have reads that he would do this with AA,KK only then of course it's a fold. An unknown at NL50 UB has a wider range than that, though. Edit: the above is for 4betting option. |

Re: AK preflop...seems basic
And when he calls with AJs because he's a SnG donk and puts you on 22 -> +++EV
Happens more often than you'd think |

This is $50 NL on UltimateBet. I'm on the button, I raise with AKs. SB reraises pot. Folds to me. This player is an unknown, I just sat down. I think this is an insta-call for most everyone...but can I lay this down at micro-stakes? I'm either chopping or behind already. At higher stakes, I wouldn't be worried at all, but these low stakes players use reraises so conservatively. [/ QUOTE ] stack sizes? bet sizes? |

Re: AK preflop...seems basic
Sam, what was the villain's name? I play $50NL 6max on UB too. Also, what's your name if you don't mind outting yourself?
