you don't like a turn check/raise????

Also, on a board like that I think the chance that he bets any holding is greatly increased. Hero's hand looks as much like QT as it does any pair. At this point UTG *should* be thinking "well, my AK is probably good. Probably not going to get check/raised. How about I bet the turn, check behind on the river?" But you are right. He's definately not betting 100% of the time with an unpaired hand and he is bettint 100% of the time with a better hand than A9.

wouldn't you want an Ax type of hand to get to the river here? I don't think he sees a river here with no pair. if he can't have KQ then i don't think raising the turn is good at all since we're just going to be charging ourselves if he's calling with TT+ here.. and there's not too many hands we want folding also..

i think the flop would be a lot better than the turn..

How has no one mentioned folding preflop? I'm not saying it's correct, but if you're gonna play a 90th percentile flop and a 95th percentile turn like this, what would make you play the hand in the first place?

Yeah, I was going to say fold pre-flop as well. I mean, if there are some callers in between UTG and hero, than it's an easy call. But heads-up against a tight UTG raiser, do we really want to play with A9s here? Even with the 50% discount, it seems like too often we are in a really bad reverse implied odds situation.

If I had it to do over again, this is what I would have done.

It made little sense for me to play the hand in th efirst place and then play it so passive.

In a heads up situation I don't see how folding pre-flop can ever be correct, unless the rockiest rock in the world raised, even then it would be close mathmatically getting 3:1.
