I found out in the course of that whole episode that two of my friends have a 100% serious agreement to remove all porn and other potentially embarrassing items from the other's place should they die/become incapacitated/etc., and have told the other where their stuff is hidden. I've yet to do something like this but it's actually a really good idea and I don't know why people think it's weird. Also, explained in proper context (e.g. send your friend the thread I started) I don't know how your friend could confuse it with you being suicidal or whatever. Sorry to hear things aren't going well. Maybe your poor taste in fast food has something to do with it. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

[img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] thx for the thoughts. my poor taste probably has everythign to do with it. i was just thinking, if any friend came to me and said out of the blue, "in case something ever happens to me, can you come to my place and clean up all my porn, strap ons and heroin needles", i'd be a little concerned, so knowing what my friend knows about me, i'd think he'd get really concerned. when i moved to NY last year, i was basically just giving all my [censored] away, and only keeping what i could fit in my car. he got a little concerned. he said if i wasn't sure you were moving, it kinda seems like you're going to kill yourself.

I have thought a bit about this before. Besides the embarassing stuff in your place, I've wondered about computer and internet cleanup. Maybe you stash all your passwords and stuff somewhere that only your cleanup person knows about. That way they can wipe your computer clean, erase you as much as possible from the internet, and even make sure some serious stuff is taken care of (i.e. bills).
I think what you need to do is find a buddy and create sealed envelopes with all the relevant info (passwords, porn stash locations, etc.) and keep them somewhere only to be opened upon disappearance/death of one of you. That way you also don't have to confess of all your weird [censored] while you are alive. Only your buddy will know the extent of your perversions upon your death. Really, this idea is no more weird than having a will.

If somehow, impossibly, the guy doesn't have any secrets of his own then he likely sucks and you should stop hanging out with him. Either way you win! Also, you shouldn't do heroin.

i use to have a friend to clean my place up and take care of my valuables when i got locked up, had 2 roomates and associated with some shady types that were fine if i was present but would probably try to rob my [censored] if i was away. plus didnt want po po to search it and [censored] me if it was something serious.
