obviously, he's not a choke artist. I was looking at the pokerwire updates and was stunned to see how many walks he was getting 4 and 5 handed. seemed like the table was very afraid to play with him. thats gotta help when the blinds and antes are gigantic.

Also, I played a lot of LHE cash games with him and was very surprised to see he is quite a talented LHE cash game player too. Definitely a lot better than I was expecting from someone I initially knew as a NL cash game player and tourney pro.

IMO Tran has got to be one of the most well-rounded hold 'em players there is.

JC was on my PCA table, as well as the grinder and genius (i suck @ table draw), and to put it lightly...JC was the donk of the table, he may have had just a bad day, but with every hand he played my opinion of him got worse and worse

JC Tran is sick good at tournaments. Not only that, he's a super nice guy. If you get to know him at all he's a very easy guy to root for.

I'd say yeah, JC has run bad at WPT final tables, but he's made so many it's ridiculous.

If you're aware of how the WPT final tables go it's not about him choking but about him getting unlucky when it becomes a crapshoot.

Fwiw, it seemed like this particular LAPC played out in a slow, relatively non-crapshooty manner. At the end of the day, second and first place in a tournament are pretty similar to each other.
