Re: Depression - Eating More or Less
[ QUOTE ]
Personally I need to motivate myself to eat (be it cook or get out of the house to buy food) so if I'm depressed I eat less. Others take comfort in food so they eat to (try) make themselves feel better. [/ QUOTE ] Same here. Not jokingly either, I eat less when I'm lazy. |

Re: Depression - Eating More or Less
When I am really deppressed, like when something is really life altering I won't eat for a long time. Last year I lost almost 20 pounds after me and the lady friend of 2 years broke up. Although if I am just bummed because I did poorly on a test or something I will eat a lot, because eating is fun.

Re: Depression - Eating More or Less
I don't know why this is, but when I went on anti-depressants I lost a lot of weight without trying. I think that when you eat you get a temporary rush, especially with crappy food. So when I felt like hell, I'd eat something [censored] to have five minutes of feeling a little bit better. I can't relate to not eating due to depression, because I went the other way. Another thing is I stopped drinking almost entirely once I was medicated, that hasn't hurt either.

[/ QUOTE ] Back when I was working I would slam dark chocolate and Guinness when I'd get off work so I could get back to feeling halfway decent. The trick is to keep pounding those until you fall asleep, then you wake up and have to go back to work. You can almost get through life that way. |
