[ QUOTE ] i like the way this hand was played up until the river. i would put in a raise here [/ QUOTE ] And pray for A8? [/ QUOTE ] weirdly played AK, AT, A9 A8 A7 A6 A5 A4 A3 A2, QJ ive seen this with weird aces a lot of the time, and very very often this happens when they hit 2 pair on the river, so A8 is a nice part of his range IMO the only flush that makes any sense is QJh, so you are losing to KT or AQ here IMO, and AQ often raises PF, so he flopped the nuts or nothing, i think often enough you have the best hand here to profitably raise although i dont think a call is horrible |

Definitely best to limp preflop. I wouldn't bet so much on the turn; hand protection really shouldn't be much of a concern, since there are no legitimate draws on the flop to call your bet, so my priority would be to get value from lesser aces. Push the river. If villain has KT that's a cooler, but his range to call a push is substantially wider than that, and you're ahead of nearly everything else.

At 16s this early what is SB completing with that allow him to call the flop? Axs, KT, KJ, AT, QJ, poss AQo. Of this what does he call 300 on turn with: KT, QJo, QJh or A5 which hits 2 pr. Which makes 200 on the river a scary value bet or he has KT and hates the flush, or he's bluffing. It leaves him 1000 chips behind to play with, so I'm guessing he's either QJh or KT. Either way at this point surely you have to call for the 200, fold and raise both seem to me wrong. Pot's big enough now to win, and you aren't dead if you lose. Of the 3 I guess he had KTo or A5. [/ QUOTE ] Wow. This seems completely wrong to me. Even at the $27s I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a villain stack off with A2o here. Your analysis reads a lot better if we have some reason to think that villain isn't a complete donk, which we don't. We simply have no reason at all to think that we're ever behind here. |

On the button, I would have raised this pre-flop, as played I'd raise the river for value.
Surprised to see so many peeps happy with a limp pre-flop, even Harrington says this is a raise with 2 callers. |

Harrington gives good MMT advices but bad STT advices, generally.

I like preflop and flop play. On the turn I'd bet less, say between 150 and 200. I don't raise the river.

PF is so close that it doesnt matter really, id limp it sometimes and raise it sometimes. hand seems to be played ok, but id probably bet less on the turn, unless you put him on two pair through god read mode, in which case raise river. I think he has a flush or a straight here, like, never. unless he has qj [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], which is just sick, gg him
I think you can raise this river if you had a good read on him, liiiiiike hes a monkey or something, but calling is just fine. |
