Re: OOT Laws: Timeframe Before Dating a Friend\'s Ex
There's a big difference between an LTR and an ex-wife.
Also, the age of your friend at the time of the relationship should be considered. IMO, it doesn't count as much if he were with a girl for two years from age 19-21, then if it were a post-collegiate relationship of the same duration. |

Age makes a big difference. And marriage is not the same as an LTR. These posts work out alot better if you just post a specific scenario...but even then you're likely to get alot of hate |

[ QUOTE ] wow worst poll ever. friend>girl [/ QUOTE ] There are degrees to friendship and the polls reflect this. There is a gray area here. [/ QUOTE ] Somewhat invalid. Maybe its just me, but I think there's a difference between "ex wife" and "LTR." |

the answer in these situations is "it depends if you can't get any " [/ QUOTE ] seriously unless you're on some eric clapton kick I don't see why you can't just pick a different chick. Ask your buddy first in all cases, if they don't care then that's fine. I wouldn't touch a friend/good friend's ex wife with a 10 foot poll |

I suppose everyone sees the "ex wife" as more serious than "LTR" and voted according to that. |

Re: OOT Laws: Timeframe Before Dating a Friend\'s Ex
If the girl is worth jeopardizing feelings for and the guy is not a close friend, then why bother waiting? He's gonna pissed no matter what the time frame, so if she is worth pissing him off then get to it right away. The suckiness of this totally depends on the level of friendship. Obviously it's [censored] to some degree for all levels of friends, but I personally wouldn't waste an oppurtunity to go out with a really hot or cool girl for some dude I rarely see or only know through another friend

If she's worth jeopardizing the relationship with your friend/acquaintance, then the answer is immediately. Her ex does not own her or have any say over who she dates. [/ QUOTE ] This would be my opinion as well. Since you dont care about the guy that much, then who gives a [censored], go for it. Id never date any friends ex tho, LTR or STR. I've got a marco polo streak and my friends are all [censored] talking bastards, if I was playing sloppy seconds to one of them, I would NEVER hear the end of it, heh. |

Re: OOT Laws: Timeframe Before Dating a Friend\'s Ex
A word of caution: I dated my friend's ex, and he punished me by failing to mention that she was a total psycho bitch.
