i wasnt really speaking specifically about this hand, but in general.
it doesnt usually make sense to just call in poker when you think you're ahead.

Which worse hands call this? A9? A3-A7? In your experience, does that happen often? And villains raise from the blinds often with Ace rag?

[/ QUOTE ]I do it if I believe the opponent is drawing to few outs, will continue betting if I call but will fold if I raise, especially if I may in fact we WB. I kind of view this hand that way. YMMV.

If you feel you are ahead, why raise the flop?

[/ QUOTE ]

do get money in the pot from a worse hand?
isnt that how you win in poker?

[/ QUOTE ]

on such a drawless board i think it might be best to flat call if we beleive we have the best hand. that being said i think that we almost never have the best hand here.

BB leads $4 into a $17 pot. Morons do that with bottom pair. And with monsters. I've seen plenty of folks doing it with middle pair, TPNK, small pocket pair and what not. At NL50 at least.

You don't advocate a fold here, do you?

I reckon your beat. If I had to guess I would say that villain hit top 2 on the turn and finished up with a full house. Let us know the results.
