[ QUOTE ]
Players typically tip the dealers the amount they would have been raked, $4-$6 per pot.

That takes care of that for me.

It is my understanding that the dealers pay the house an hourly rate to "work" there.

If it were only that simple..
By definition in the ARS (Arizona revised statutes) I think they are pushing the limits.

"As a business"...
""Conducted as a business" means gambling that is engaged in with the object of gain, benefit or advantage, either direct or indirect, realized or unrealized, but not when incidental to a bona fide social relationship."

"Social Gambling"...

And yes, love of the game, and sales to the players make up a fair part of it.

The owner did not tell me this, but the player that told me about the place, it may or may not be 100% correct.

But the owner did tell me that he has been cleared to operate by all concerned parties.

I suggest you request to see the letter from the DA's office agreeing its a legal operation. I know in NY State they consider dealers who accept tips as profiting from the game.

I'll be playing 8/16 1 or 2 times in this room this week, probably around 8pm. Say hello if you want to embarrass us both.

Why would I want to play here versus CAZ or the Fort? I guess that's how I look at it.

The tip equaling the rake is the reason for my remark unless you want to play the PL game. TT, I wear a Dodger's cap in the 20 game at CAZ if you're going to be there and feel like saying hi.

As I told Chuck, I sent him a link to the post and recommended that he create an account and respond to some of the questions here.

He is not a "techie" so it might a couple of days for him to get here...
