Re: 10/20 top two vs cts, 250BB deep and 3-handed
disagree with everyone, come over the top on the flop. calling looks stronger than raising again.

What if he has J,J or A,A. It's unlikely but how unlikely?

Minraise is pretty cool.

what is with these minraise suggestions you guys are a bunch of assclowns. there is only one player that a 7 minbet raise to induce bluffs is good vs, well two categories actually: 2cent/4cent players and players named hotmark

Re: 10/20 top two vs cts, 250BB deep and 3-handed
Uhm bruiser, how often do you seriously think cts is gonna continue if you cold-call his 555 here? Like, never most likely. The only situation that would ever be possible is if hero had such a insane image that he would AT on the flop for value, and thus would have to call this 555 and MIGHT fold on the turn. Given how ridiculous that sounds (especially given these stacks), I'd say a call is pretty damn strong here. Hoping that cts thinks you are floating his 3-bet and continues on turn is wishful thinking imo, but if you make it 1110 (yes not a minraise, I like this amount better) he just MIGHT think you are re-stealing at least and push (sure that's pretty damn unlikely as well), it's way more likely you would do that as a bluff than floating his 3-bet.
The point behind why calling seems pretty bad is that there are basically no legit hands at all that will raise in the first place, call and then fold to ANY turn. Only a bluffraise followed through with a float of the flop 3-bet matches that, and you are hoping to much if you think cts will fire turn here often, if at all. |

Re: 10/20 top two vs cts, 250BB deep and 3-handed
MDMA,
With almost 5k behind in 1k pot, I think it is much more likely that cts fires a 2nd barrel than he 5-bets the flop when he's bluffing. Most will know that calling the 3-bet in this spot looks very strong, and they also know that cts is tricky/tough and so they may not want to risk getting outplayed by 4-betting and having to fold. If here raised with a gutshot/2nd pair then he would much rather see a turn card to improve or float, instead of letting cts outplay him on the flop. |
