[ QUOTE ]
Yet ebay allows the sale of stolen merchandise on their site every day. It is common knowledge that a lot of the brand new items up for ebay auction are stolen. Home depot has security at the door in a lot of stores now because of ebay theft. [/ QUOTE ] LOL. Damn you eBay for being solely responsible for the rising prices of retail items!!! Damn you!!!!!!!! Hey at least some rent-a-cops are being hired to work at Home Depot now. I mean you don't want someone walking out with that brand spanken new toilet or plumbing fixture and have them eBay that shiat. Hopefully they won't figure out electronics are probably easier to lift and eBay than shiat at Home Depot. -Brendan |

ehm, the faucet fixtures are like $180 a piece carry about 5 of those in one arm.. ebay here you come lol. Any of the power tools $300 and up... no security... probably a bit easier than electronics.
instead of selling FTP points on ebay.. why not just sell yourself or body part for "advertising" on ebay if you need cash? |

WTF did you expect from a company that sent a congradulatory letter to Bob Goodlatte? [/ QUOTE ] "The eBay boss, a stolid mom-like presence at the online auction company, has also supported a leading campaigner against immigrants, a fierce critic of the "theory" of evolution, and a candidate with a liking for racial epithets. Online casinos are Direct competition for eBay guys. People get addicted to the thrill of the auction the exact same way the get addicted to the thrill of winning/losing while gambling. Thats the motive here.

I would say this was more prevalent before www.esnipe.com came along. People's emotion would take over the closing minutes of an auction. Now with people sniping, the emotion is out of the picture and that "rush" isn't quite as drastic. |

Essentially eBay/paypal is ONE large casino. The vast majority of people use paypal (2.2 - 2.9% fee) to pay for the items they win. Ebay takes rougly 4-5% of the final value. I can see why they want nothing to do with anything illegal, they have a proverbial cash cow. [/ QUOTE ] so what illegal? I thought the law only bans bank transactions and that isnt even in effect yet! |

It is illegal in the sence that when e-bay/paypal became one company they signed an agreement w/the Gov. to cease doing business with gambling companies.
