I think flop cr is scary for villain and mght fold out a lot of hands that would have called a lead. And of course it could have been checked behind which is bad for you.

So I'd raise pf and lead flop (although I don't play this high).

I think you played it quite well.

You really think OP played it well?? I can't disagree more. Here;s why.

Not raising the flop is pretty gross here imo. We are not sure anyone will bet the flop in a limped pot. Plus a c/r has too much FE compared to a lead, and FE is not our friend here. If that's not enough, we have only 2 streets to grow the pot after you check the flop if it's checked around and normally end up with a small pot. Ont top of all that, you let flush draws draw out for free on the flop.

I don't think he has a flush draw after calling your big turn bet with his stats, so I would be afraid that checking river will let him check behind to see a cheap showdown. Like do you really think he has AK here to check the river?? I would bet river for sure.

[ QUOTE ]
I think the river check raise is gold. Any hand that he is calling with he is betting with. You get max value this way.

[/ QUOTE ]

Lol ... are you kidding?

1/3 pot bet on the river could be money.

OK, question for everyone... i dont understand the river play. I put him on big A here and think the river flush card would scare him here. Why not lead river with a bet and try to get value. I see villian checking behind here to often... thoughts?

FWIW...
If i called pre, i bet flop close to pot or so hoping to get reraised an A, but i dont want anyone drawing to a flush so i bet this hard the whole way

i take it you were hoping he hit the flush but it turned out u lost to A7 or A2?

u have to pay that off. bet river tho...he'll call with trips (tho i think it's an unlikely hand for this villian) and raise with flush.

there's NO WAY a 19/13 has a big A here in a limped pot. most likely hands are flush or boat.

raising flop, btw, eliminates those pesky A2/A7s.

if hes calliing this down with a rag ace in a limped pot its completely horrible. I would put him on a slowplayed 222, A2 or spades.

I think you played it quite well. I might just bet the river, though, as he's probably not drawing to the flush, and you don't want the flush card to potentially slow him down if he's holding trip aces (unless your read is there's a good chance he'd bluff at this scary river, then your line is probably best).

[/ QUOTE ]

I like a bet here just because I would feel like [censored] if he just checked behind, but if you know he is going to bet ( and he obv showed strength) I like it.

Yeah, I agree. We get money from weak hands, and 22 goes all in here and we max get value there too.

This is 400nl. The pot is limped, so it is not a big A like ever.

Yeah this is true. So are we raising pf with all pairs? And how man limpers do we need before we decide to limp along?
