Try not to get shot, robbed, stabbed, kidnapped, or raped.

I'm flying out of Portland and I used the travel voucher from Pokerstars. Going through Mexico City was $200 cheaper than conecting from a US city.

A fine plan.

Alternatively, you could spend half a day looking for a mens room clean enough for you to safely take a dump. That'll shoot the full 12 hours.

Agree with not leaving the airport for fear of being mugged.

Also, dont plan on wasting time playing cards. Crib and even solitaire can be considered gambling and is not allowed in the airport.

A few years ago my friend took his eyes off his bags in the MC airport for a minute and they were gone. We were on our way home and burnt out from partying for ten days or so. He was tired of hauling his bags around so he left them behind while we walked to McDonald's to grab a cup of water. When we got back a couple minutes later, his bags were gone.

He went to find security or the cops or whoever and I ran through a set of doors, down some stairs, and outside where there was a big row of taxis. The first thing I see is two scraggly kids who look to be about twelve walking with some guy with my friend's bags on a luggage cart. I got the bags back and that was that.

I wouldn't leave my bags unattended for 30 seconds in the Aspen airport, let alone in [censored] Mexico. Your friend is an idiot.
