What I find funny is for the first snowstorm of the year, they will spend hours talking about even if they expect "a dusting up to 2 inches". Then they show the long line of people buying gallons of water at the store. Oh no, 2 inches of snow. Panic, panic, panic.

They predict my area will receive 6-12 inches tonight. I expect to wake up to either less than 2 inches or more than 2 feet.

Speaking for my city, if you always bet the under, you'd win about 96% of the time.

Hey oot'ers,

Please oblige me here.
When it is going to snow a lot like it might Tuesday in Chicago, Indy, Columbus, Cleveland, etc.
Do you watch the local news for weather coverage?

If yes, what do you like about the coverage? What annoys you? What do you think is funny? Etc?

I don't find out it's going to snow until it looks cloudy over the foothills (in Denver suburbs) because I make it a point to avoid these tools at all cost.

The city of Baltimore freaks out over an inch of snow. It looks like we're getting minimal snow, but maybe some freezing rain and sleet. Shut the city down. People around here can't drive in peak conditions.

I wish I stayed home today.

I live outside Philly. Last Friday they were screaming batch down the hatches 6-12 inches. On Sunday it was up to 4 inches. Now it's 1-3 with a slushy Wednesday morning commute.

All this means is that we will either get blasted or next to nothing.

Im in Champaign. We have 6 inches on the ground and it is snowing pretty heavily now. Classes at U of I got cancelled today, so I am going to enjoy my snow day by going back to sleep.

I'm going to EIU right now. At 6 this morning 2 different local news channels reported the campus closed on their websites and their broadcasts. I rechecked at 9 and the listings were down. Called the university and they said that there weren't any closings. Glad I didn't have a morning class today.

WIU is canceled as well. Kinda sucks since I have a class that meets once a week today that I really enjoy and don't want to have everything [censored] up for it.
