The 2k line's exclusive deal is 3rd party only, so each console manufacturer can release their own MLB-licensed game. Obviously Sony is the only one taking the opportunity.

Oh geez if that is true this sucks. First the NFL sells out to EAsports then this.

It's really just a defensive move on 2K's part after EA bought a monopoly on the football market, and like Soul Daddy mentioned, it's only designed to shut out EA which I think is pretty brilliant.

So we'll have MLB 2k7 and MLB 07: The Show to choose between?

For Sony platforms, yes. 360 owners will only have 2k7 as an MLB licensed game.

Wii owners inexplicably have to wait a year for any sort of baseball title, even though the system seems perfectly designed for one. I might have to dust off the PS2 and get a copy of MVP to get a fix.

Here's to hoping the 2K game doesn't suck then. I really enjoyed MLB 06: The Show last year, but I got a 360 now.

bump

It turns out Jeter has a 99 "Clutch" Rating, and is also great on defense.

Sign, I already don't like this game.
