thats a really crappy river card. With people left behind you that have CC all the way I don't mind this fold even in this huge pot.

On second though, would anyone consider a c/f line if it gets raised behind us or is this just bad?

calling 2BB cold kind of screams "i'm on the draw" EP is loose aggressive bad. Pot's massive, I'm happy with my fold. Your thoughts?

I used to view river calls like this as +sanity -EV calls. But now that I'm more comfortable playing poker, I just call them -EV calls.

Same here. Ocassionally I'm going to throw away an overpair in these spots and see a worse hand turned over, but it's so rare that I try not to worry about it. I can remember 3 hands in the past month where I threw away an overpair in a big pot and was wrong (not including the times I folded a better hand and it didn't get shown down.) In all of those plays I went with my read and it just happened to be the one time some passive player decided to raise or donk bet with nothing. The nice thing about low limit poker is people are generally predictable and it allows you to play near perfect poker.

2c I still fold to MP3's river aggression. Reads on both players were too strong. If it's checked to me I bet and pray.

yes, actually. Both players seemed far too fishy not to be a VERY strong hand. These people were passive, not stupid. AA is wrecked on the river in this hand so many different ways.

If so, why call the first time? Position for the lose.

this is bet/fold territory because if Late position flatcaller wakes up all of a sudden, I'm toast. If EP loose aggressive passive player who bet the river but checked the turn wakes up, I'm also toast. Bet because I'm aggressive.

reedited to say, you know what, I think i'll just check here. the board is seriously fubared for me. You guys are right

bet/fold is right if its checked to you, but what if sb bets out when the 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] comes. Are we folding then with mp3 behind us?

I know I'm not folding if I'm closing the action, I'll overcall with overpair.

again, i'm too spooked here. board is too coordinated and other players have been doing things that are downright suspicious.

you want to play whatif, what if my numbers on SB are 40/0/0 with a river AF of 1 and MP3's numbers are 33/0/0.
