I was working at a mine, and I saw this acidently attempted.
Once and a while they pour a bunch of bleach into the water cooler and put a big orange bag over it that says "do not drink". They leave it bleaching for a while then come back and flush it out. An contracting electrican comes into the room, covered in sweat, probably pretty dehydrated, reaches for a cup and before someone could finish saying "Hey buddy..." He tips it back. He was unable to swallow it, As soon as it hit his mounth he was sputting bleach and swearing like a teamster. Then he freaked out and asked why no one tried to stop him. (from drinking from the water cooler with a big orange warning bag that said do not drink) Anyways, After seeing this I dont think its possible to get any pure bleach to the throat, The instant spitting, choaking appears to be involentary.
