3. This year will see a lot of online players moving to the B+M world. The mid- to high-stakes games should get tougher in places like Vegas and LA.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you have this exactly backwards. The quickest people to go busto online will be the worst players. And it is those that will thus more quickly move to B&Ms. I would expect that live games in Vegas and LA will get easier, not tougher -- at least in the short to mid term.

I think the amount of new money coming in to poker will still be substantial. We may well have peaked, but the level of the ocean on a long-term sustainable basis will be much much higher than it was before the advent of televised poker.

We need more of this doom and gloom stuff. I love the thought that large numbers of 2+2ers will quit poker and go back to World of Warcraft.

7. Expenses. Most poker players spend a huge amount of money.

[/ QUOTE ]
No, that's just the vocal minority.

Plus, you're completely ignoring the growth in Europe and (hopefully) the future growth in Asia. Yeah, alot of mediocre players who managed to win a bit before will start losing, but it's not the end of the world for online pros here.

Chalk one up for the going broke in 07 crowd. Hoping Howard is right about B&Ms though.
