Re: Why is PokerStars doing nothing?
Neteller is still making a ton of money off of pokerstars for non-us accounts. Pokerstars could atleast put some kind of pressure on them to start paying people to give some credibility to the industry.

The United States Department of Justice has frozen Neteller accounts of U.S. customers. How could PokerStars have the slightest influence on the situation? |

Even if thats true . . . [/ QUOTE ] You say this as though there is any doubt. The Department of Justice announcing that they've frozen the funds wasn't proof enough for you? |

[/ QUOTE ] Maybe Neteller itself might be enough. From the website: "...the Group has been advised that the USAO has obtained court-ordered seizure warrants seizing funds pertaining to the Group’s transactions. To the best of the Group’s knowledge, it believes that the amount of funds seized by the USAO or otherwise restricted by third parties does not exceed US$ 55 million. These funds were largely in the process of being transferred from the Group to its US customers or vice versa. As a result of the restrictions placed by third parties, court-ordered seizures, and related legal concerns, the Group is currently unable to make payments to US customers." |

Re: Why is PokerStars doing nothing?
[ QUOTE ]
I see people here rushing to try out different e-wallets. After the Neteller catastrophe, with millions of dollars stuck in limbo, you want to pour more money in? Who's to say it won't happen to e-passport tomorrow? If the poker sites want to keep the American market, it's up to them to find solutions, not us. And if they can't find any, well then, we can't play online for the time being. What worries me is that PokerStars is doing nothing (Full Tilt came up with MyWebATM, but who wants that rock garden where you can't even re-size tables? I'd rather not play at all). After the zillions they made off American players, you would think they'd be offering really juicy bonuses if you sent WU or cashier's check (I'd send one with a good incentive). But no. You'd think they'd be offering to cash in your FPP points to top off your bankroll. But no. In fact, they're doing nothing. It's like they're not interested in keeping the American market. Maybe it's too dangerous and there's a lot of other world left to operate in. [/ QUOTE ] from the lips of Lee: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rue#Post9078902 [ QUOTE ] Hi all - At the risk of stating the obvious... Yes, we're extremely aware of the isuses with deposits for our U.S. customers. We have one of the best guys in the business, "KT", our director of payments, who is working what seems like 24/7 to find new and better deposit methods. It's obviously not simple - in some cases there are companies that look good on the surface but ultimately aren't folks "you want to invite into your living room." Remember, we're trusting your money to these companies. As I said in another thread, we are doing everything we legally and ethically can to provide all of our customers (including those in the U.S.) with a good online poker experience. That clearly includes simple and effective deposit methods. Best regards, Lee Jones PokerStars Poker Room Manager [/ QUOTE ] BTW, thanks for the info ZBTH! |
